The perfect Spring picnic with Wines Of Sicily

We found an area in between some oak trees and green grass that was the perfect spot to stop and set up our spread.

Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, the weather is delicious…it must be time for a spring picnic! You’ve been waiting all winter long, so pull out all the stops, throw down a blanket, and make your first picnic of the season a smash.

We have quickly realized that summertime in Texas can be pretty extreme, so we’ve discovered that the most ideal time to be outside picnicking is during Spring time. Since moving to West Texas, our intake of chilled wines, compared to other alcoholic beverages has definitely increased. With the hot days and warm evenings, who wouldn’t want a refreshing glass of wine from Wines of Sicily at the end of a long day?! 

 I picked up some cheese and goodies from one of my local markets. Sometimes a “light” mix of a few cheeses, meats, fruits, crackers and bread is my favorite way to do dinner. I was also in love with IL Moro Valle dell’Acate wine, which is actually from Wines of SICILIA DOC. The wine has great structure, deep red in color with a notable persistence on the palate. Following the vinification, the wine remained for fourteen months in small French barrique and once bottled underwent an additional 10 months of cellaring. This versatility is key to the beauty of the beverage and what leads to its wondrously unique and complex range of colors, flavors and finishes. Wines of Sicily have so many different varieties of wines in that I think I’m going to go and buy as another excuse for more picnics! It was indeed a beautiful evening, we just sat there, watching the day coming to an end.
