What to wear in summer – my top 4 tips & tricks

Thinking about what to wear in summer can be challenging. You reveal more about yourself and your body than in any other season and have fewer layering tricks at your disposal to either cover up certain parts or create a nice silhouette.

What to wear on a hot day that isn’t shorts? Dresses!

Both fit & flare and swing dress styles are more fitted at the top and flowier at the bottom, making them cool & comfortable to wear. Again, don’t limit yourself to just a solid, but also get a patterned or fun color. With minimal effort you can look completely put together and trendy!

Summer Fashion Tip: If you are worried about wearing a dress around your kids and your skirt being pulled or yanked up, try a midi or maxi option. The skirt will still allow for air movement, but there’s less chance of something going wrong. You can also wear biker shorts underneath. I simply take an old pair of leggings and cut them to the length I want.

 Keep your clothes loose.
The looser, the better. The less fabric you have actually touching your body, the more comfortable you will feel. Believe it or not, a flowy maxi dress will keep you cooler than a pair of shorts and a skintight tank.

Dress In Very Thin Layers In Your Summer Wear.

This is easy to do when you have a few very thin blouses or tunics. It doesn’t matter if they are see-through because you will be wearing it with either your bikini or singlet underneath.
