What to Wear on a Rainy Day

Wool coats can be worn in the rain. Wool doesn’t absorb water quickly and resists moisture well. It is also durable and good at holding in heat. Be careful of the materials you wear in rain. I’m sure you probably know this already, but just in case… Suede is off-the limits in rain because water usually ruins it, and leather that hasn’t been treated with a protectant can easily be damaged by water as well. 

Don’t be scared to wear something bright and fun on a rainy day. Bad weather can be depressing, so why not go out of your way to wear something non-depressing and cute? A cute pom pom hat can be an accessory. There are so many adorable and cheap beanie hats available at stores like JCPenney, so there’s really no excuse to stick to basic black. Buy a couple in your favorite colors if you live in a really rainy area and use them to add color to your look. For a warmer February days I always choose to wear sneakers with cropped jeans or leggings, and when it gets colder I instantly switched to boots. This time I picked a model with heels and paired it with skinny jeans and beloved wool coat. I had to have it tailored a bit even after getting the smallest size available, but everything about the coat is great–the color , the length of the sleeves, the length of the coat, the weight (light-weight, so you can layer it in colder weather and still wear it into late Spring and start again in late Fall, just to take off the chill but look good).     I actually didn’t realise that wool would be ideal in rainy weather. And of course suede would be a no-no and yet it’s something I’d probably unknowingly step out in! The cons of living in a warmer climate sadly.

    Yeah you never think of wearing wool in the rain, but water does kind of bead up on it, now sure it I would wear in the pouring rain, but light rain is ok, and this coat is gorgeous and love it with the ripped jeans.
