I’m NO skin care expert. What I am is a busy mama that is trying to do all the things while still trying to properly take care of my skin. After getting some requests on Instagram, I decided to just share a blog post sharing my current skin care routine.

Having Asian genes helps but I am seeing less elasticity in my skin, more wrinkles and drier skin. It comes with getting older and I’m accepting the fact that I’m not young anymore and am trying to age gracefully and owning my age.

Before I share my skin care routine, here are a few things that are important to having good skin in my opinion.

1. Exercise— helps you to have a strong body, which reduces your chances of having weight-related diseases. Diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol are a few of the common complications that can arise from being overweight or failing to regularly engage in physical activity. More serious, life-threatening issues, like heart attacks and heart complications, can also result from a lack of physical activity.Working out regularly has been shown to reduce your risk of having a heart-related illness. Regular exercise lowers your blood pressure and helps to maintain a healthy and beautiful skin, reducing your risk for many health problems.

2. Drink water— When you consider that dehydration causes your organs to steal moisture from your skin, hair, and fingernails, you can see why getting enough water might help you look better.  Your skin will be more supple and radiant, your hair will be shinier and fuller and your nails will grow longer and be less brittle.
3. Having Enough Sleep— Poor sleep is strongly linked to weight gain. People with short sleep duration tend to weigh significantly more than those who get adequate sleep. In fact, short sleep duration is one of the strongest risk factors for obesity. On the other hand, good sleep has been shown to improve problem-solving skills and enhance memory performance of both children and adults.
4. Healthy Eating— Your food choices each day affect your health — how you feel today, tomorrow, and in the future. Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activity, your diet can help you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer), and promote your overall health.

5. Avoid Stress — Stress can also leave a mark on your face. Dry skin, wrinkles, and acne are just some of the ways that it can manifest itself. Stress causes changes to the proteins in your skin and reduces its elasticity. This loss of elasticity can contribute to wrinkle formation. Stress may also lead to repeated furrowing of your brow that may also contribute to the formation of wrinkles.

I always make sure to wear sunscreen no matter what the weather is like. This mineral sunscreen is everything. I love it and it almost acts as a nice primer under my makeup because it’s smooth and glides right on. It last a long time so the price is definitely worth it in my opinion. Nothing hurts your skin more than sun damage!

My skincare routine changes from time to time and it’s been a bit since I’ve updated you guys. As a beauty-blogger I think it’s important to try out new or trending products to share my thoughts with you all. Lately, I’ve been using Dr. Jennifer Walden skincare products.

Here’s the 3 Face Products I absolutely love, and why they’re so great.

Face moisturizer from Dr. Jennifer Walden is a non-greasy, quick-absorbing cream that improves the appearance of your skin for a supple, healthier-look. If you suffer with dull or dry skin, try their products! You will not be disappointed. If you are looking for a moisturizer that is ‘clean’, offers great hydration, and won’t break the bank, you cannot go wrong with Dr. Walden Hydrating Daily Face Moisturizer.

Citrus stem serum: After removing my make up, I apply this serum from Dr. Jennifer Walden all over my face. Love this one because it reduces the appearance of my wrinkles, hydrates my skin and reduces the appearance of discoloration for an even skin tone with antioxidants.

Dr. Jennifer Walden’s private label custom-made Citrus Stem Cell Serum provides nourishing vitamins to protect and preserve the appearance of beautiful, vibrant-looking skin. You will see dramatic results with this energy-packed serum that’s infused with plant-based Stem Cells from orange, which enhances the appearance of skin elasticity with Vitamin C. The luxurious cream not only visibly firms and lifts, but also helps even tone. The Peony Flower helps cleanse for a radiant and dewy glow!

PRO-TIPS FROM DR. WALDEN: The Hyaluronic Acid in this amazing formulation will provide a boost of hydration, while the Vitamin C helps reduce the appearance of age spots, blemishes, and redness. Natural orange oil provides a citrus scent to round out this formula to help feed your skin!

Eye Gel: What I seldom seek out is a great eye gel that targets dark circles. This Cucumber Eye Gel from Dr. Jennifer Walden decrease the appearance of eye fatigue, puffiness and dark circles. This baby blue cooling eye gel will calm and soothe the appearance of tired looking eyes with immediate gratification!

Thank you so much for reading. Have a wonderful week!
