My little boy is ONE! I just can’t believe it! Has it really already been a year since he was born??? How did this happen so quickly? I mean, I know all parents say it and you know why? because its true! They just grow up too fast. I was so excited to throw him a party (well if you know me, I’m ALWAYS excited to throw a party). I love birthdays. I love my family. And I’m just really thankful to be a part of their lives. Here are a few photos from the birthday party. Most are DSLR pictures. I kind of happy of pulling out the real camera ( no matter how busy I am) more on their birthdays this year because I see such a difference between the iPhone and real camera pictures, these are the best ones and I’m just glad we have something to remember the days by…

HE’S THE CUTEST ONE YEAR OLD EVER!!
Last Sunday ( August 10th) my baby boy was born. Last Sunday! How can it be that he was 1 year old last Sunday? I know I saw his sweet little face for the first time just last Sunday, but last Sunday was his 1st birthday. How does that happen? I remember every detail about his birth, the labor, delivery, being at the clinic. I LOVED IT! I vividly remember my sweet, sleep deprived husband lovingly gazing upon his newborn son the first night in the clinic, and in the sweetest daddy voice he whispered, “I love you, baby Heshua!” It was then that I, in a not so sweet voice, reminded him that our son’s name was JOSHUA!
What would I do without my sweet boy? This 1-year old is such a precious gift from God. I have prayed since birth that he would be just like his daddy, and he is almost a carbon copy. For that, I am so thankful. There’s no greater roll model on this earth than his own father!
Thank you, Lord, for this perfect, precious gift! Thank you for entrusting me with this child! Thank you that he’s more responsible than I and keeps me on my toes! Thank you for his sweet heart, his mind, and his abilities. Please help him to use all of these for your glory! Lord, please give Joshua your Godly wisdom and discernment all the days of his life.
Isn’t he the CUTEST?!?! After we sang happy birthday to J, he sat down and ate that entire piece of cupcake at the table without ever looking up or saying a word. You could see heaven on his face and it was adorable.
I also remember celebrating Tabitha’s first birthday ( back in the Philippines) by bringing her a whole cake and watching both of her hands move towards her mouth to cover the sweetest little smile and giggle at the same time. I remember thinking, “she knows! she gets it!” and freaking out as a mama might on her first child’s first birthday.
We got lucky and had some of our favorite people in our home Saturday. Friends from Odessa, even a few of my friends from Midland came down for the day. We’re really thankful for all the love our friends have shown Joshua over the past year. To be honest, we felt their love for him before he even arrived. As he’s growing older, I hope he feels it, too. So thank you, friends, for making this year extra special for our family. It was wonderful to spend afternoon with you celebrating our little boy. ♥
We love you so much, Joshua. Happiest happy 1st birthday!
